How availability is calculated
Monitoring checks run about every minute from two Xyrah monitoring servers. Each service is then sampled once a minute. Availability is the share of samples in which the service was operational or only degraded, out of all samples where it was either available or in an outage. Time under maintenance and time with no current monitoring data are left out of the percentage, and are shown as such on the history strip. Days before monitoring began show as no data, never as healthy.
A single failed check does not change a service state; the monitor requires repeated confirmation first. An incident is opened automatically only after a sustained outage and closed automatically only after sustained recovery, unless an operator has taken over.
